This year the European Poker Tour ( EPT) season 10 has joined up with the Italian Poker Tour (IPT) season 6, both sponsored by Pokerstars, for a combined event at San Remo, Italy this April 9th to 20th. This is the penultimate event of EPT and just a short hop over the border for the Grand Final in Monte Carlo. A large crowd of poker players will descend on San Remo to enjoy poker on the Italian Riviera.
Grand prizes will be announced at the time but San Remo season 9 saw French pro Ludovic Lacay take home €744,910 by beating Canadian Jason Lavallee heads up at the final table.
The online satellites are running now, around the clock, where Pokerstars are offering their players three options to get to EPT San Remo Main Event.
The EPT San Remo Packages
There are three packages available to the EPT San Remo:
1.) Main Event seat only worth €4,900
2.) Main Event Seat and expenses worth €5,600 (€4,900 seat plus €700 expenses) and
3.)EPT San Remo Full inclusive prize package worth €8,100 which will include:
- €4,900 EPT San Remo Main Event Seat
- €2,510 for eight nights at the Royal Hotel, San Remo
- €690 towards travel
The EPT San Remo Satellites
The EPT Vienna satellites feeder tournaments that lead to the qualifiers start at €2.22 and are easily found through the events / EPT tab in the Pokerstars lobby.
The qualifier tournaments, where the packages are won, are shown in the lobby on the Pokerstars software these are identifiable in bold type.
If you decide to skip the satellites and go straight to the Qualifiers you can expect to pay
- €215 buy in (S) = Main Event seat worth €4,900
- €320 buy in (S + E) = Seat and expenses worth €5,600
- €530 buy in (FP) = Full €8,000 inclusive package
EPT Buy-in Direct
At EPT San Remo there are side events running (see schedule below) but, there are no online satellites for these side events so you’ll have to buy in direct.
When buying in to side events up to €999 players can use cash at the casino cage. For players who wish to pay cash for buy ins of over €1,000 these will be subject to Italian financial regulations which involves a visit to the bank and the inevitable paperwork. However, to make cash buy ins as easy as possible, there will be three dedicated EPT cashiers at the Banco Di San Giorgio Spa, Via Roma 60 which is about 4 minutes away from the Casino and is open 9am until 4pm (closed on Sunday).
However, players can use credit cards or travellers cheques for buy ins of any amount at EPT San Remo. You can also buy in direct by sending money through bank wire to the Casino in advance.
